There are three types of binding done at NAM.
- Librarian Binding
- Conservation Binding
- Fine Binding
- Side Stitching
- Saddle Stitching
- Cross Stitching
- Overcasting
- Sewing on Tape
- Sewing on Code
- French Sewing
Section Book
On the left hand side, is an A3 paper. It is called "section" as if it is folded, it become an A4 paper book.
So in this case, if a book is a "section book" a saddle stitching technique is suitable as the stitching done at the center of the book.


The top magazine is bonded by using stapler, it is then being preserved by binding it using the saddle stitching technique. Other techniques that can be used are sewing on code, sewing on tape, french sewing, and cross-stitch. Below are other examples of section book.



Paper Book
What is "paper book"? It is a combination of many papers. Example as follows:-

These are examples of "paper book" . Side stitching and overcasting techniques are suitable for these types of books.
The papers are bonded together using glue.
